Text Box: Island Summer Adventures
Summer Staff will minister in a day camp program designed to develop children's spiritual, physical, moral, social and intellectual growth.  Staff work together to plan week long camps and then take leadership and support staff roles to teach and have tons of fun with the campers.

The Day Camp Difference
Island Summer Adventures is a daycare alternative for families.  Parents and children have the opportunities to choose from a variety of week long camps to attend.  Our doors open at  7:30 AM for children to be dropped off and the last few leave by 5:30 PM each day.  Camps run Monday through Friday all summer.

This leaves nights and weekends available for staff to prepare for the next day, relax, fellowship, worship and learn together.  Weekends can also be spent camping, hiking, fishing, and kayaking (to name a few).

Of primary importance is building of relationships and demonstrating the Christian faith.  Through everything our summer staff do we want the children and parents to see Jesus.  We have the wonderful opportunity to minister not only in our actions but also with our words.  Two children chapels are held each day where the campers learn fun songs, great bible stories, and learn about the Christian faith.  Each grade also has a mentor time set aside to ask question, and dig deeper into the topics they are learning throughout the week.  Summer Staff are assigned a mentor group for the summer and are responsible to plan activities for that time each day.

Our Camping Program
Island Summer Adventures is available for children entering 1st through 8th grade.  Camps are offered for each age group with all the campers meeting for chapel and lunch time.  Campers normally attend two camps a day with a morning and afternoon option.  Camps like kayaking and backpacking run both in the morning and afternoon.

Summer Staff are responsible to plan the activities for the camp or camps they will be doing for the week.
